I wouldn’t even call it a right. It is the President’s duty to select members of the United States Supreme Court. They’re basically demanding that he refrain from doing his job so that someone they like better can do it instead. So, pretty much the same as they’ve been saying for the last 7 years.

It’s an obligation of the President to nominate. You’re correct. The GOP is saying he can only do 7/8s of the job of the President and that the nation should wait until the next president to fill the seat.
