See above in Twitter. Anyhow, I really donāt like caucuses at all. I find them very undemocratic for the reasons mentioned above in the Tweetstream by Ana Mardoll.
Iām not a big fan of caucuses either (last year was the first time I ever lived in a place that used them).
The caucus here was not āundemocraticā as claimed though: anyone in the Democratic Party could request an absentee ballot from the party, and those were sent in to each county caucus site.
In our county, when it came time to count votes, the absentee ballots were opened and those votes counted.
People who were housebound, or at work, or otherwise couldnāt attend were afforded the opportunity to vote.
I canāt say how that went for caucuses in other states, but here every single person registered as a Democrat got an absentee ballot card in the mail a few months before the caucus.
