re: #196 b.d.
My father joined the marines at 16 due to a hardship exemption during WW2 and went from NYC to Hawaii. One of my uncles served under Patton, got a purple heart, and changed the subject when it came time to talk about what ever happened.
I have pictures of my grandfather in his WW1 uniform in his gas mask.
I am under 50. Damn catholics, their funky timelines mess up everything.
One of my great uncles served part of WW2 on Tinian. I believe he actually helped assemble the components.
His photo album was pretty interesting to look through and hear some of the stories.
