First - No, not legally.

Second - How? Leghold traps are likely to cause injury, and releasing a large animal that can literally kill you from a trap is dangerous.

Third - then what? What do you do with the deer once you’ve trapped it? Take it somewhere and leave it? That would be REALLY expensive!! And given the number of deer in some of the places with the worst problem, not very effective. And anywhere you take them, the local deer population is probably already at or above carrying capacity.

LOL I was thinking take it to the shochet & then to the butcher.
