re: #202 Punish Domestic Terrorists

I’d be extremely surprised if entries “deleted” from any social media service were permanently deleted, rather than flagged. They exist to hoover up data.

Immediately permanently deleting data is a Bad Idea (tm) in a human-oriented system, because people often change their minds and want to get something back. Typical storage policies range from 30-90 days. After that, they get cleaned up by a batch job running overnight. It is also more performant than deleting immediately, because calling back to do a hard delete is a much slower process than flipping a bit. All that to say, it’s a 100% guarantee that your tweets, FB posts, Parler parleys, etc., are never deleted immediately upon request and are stored in servers for quite some time, and copied to off-line backups and retained for a virtual eternity.
