Seriously, how exactly do the Republicans plan to defund the UN? The veto we have as a permanent member of the security council doesn’t allow us to change the required member’s dues structure just because we’d like to, it’s already in place. This is the same reason that the Soviet Union couldn’t just end the Korean war after they’d boycotted in 1950, what’s decided and passed can’t unilaterally be undone.

Aren’t the Republicans just proposing another ineffectual temper tantrum? That does seem to be their specialty, wring their fists and cry like babies while accomplishing nothing.
