At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the part that galls me the most is the huge outpouring of support and donations for Zimmerman, as if he somehow struck a blow for goodness and law and order by his actions. At best what he did was dangerous and irresponsible, and simply not the kind of thing that sane and law abiding people do.

And yet he now has millions of defenders and admirers. Something upside down, even perverse, about that.
