I think this one warrants scandal even to those outside the Bubble. Not an impeachable, worldview-shocking, game-changing scandal, but something that needs to be dealt with thoroughly before it spreads.

The ‘scandal’ I see is that, exactly as predicted, the Patriot Act allows legal surveillance of Americans outside of the normal limits when it is an issue of national security, defined here as an investigation into a leak of the contents of some top-secret documents.

So if the result of it is pro-repeal of the Patriot Act, I can’t say I’m against that.

Also, I don’t buy that reporters have to have these kinds of relationships that result in leaks of top-secret material in order to do their jobs.
