So, out of curiosity, if Trump supporters are going to lose their minds to violence in Cleveland…what happens if he’s the nominee and loses the general?

When he loses the general it will be by an overwhelming popular vote margin. They ain’t gonna do a thing but bitch for a week and then pivot to claiming he was never a “true conservative” and that’s why he lost. That’s the magic of modern conservatism as an ideology, it’s protean and fluid in a way that renders its adherents utterly incapable of introspection. As far as the collective Republican subconscious is concerned he’s always been an intentionally disposable candidate. The establishment hates him but even his strongest supporters will only care about him until he loses resoundingly, then they’ll tear him apart and start looking for a new führer.
