This is a pretty significant walk-back by the WH. After weeks of “We’ll not accept anything less than $5B,” they’re now saying “We’ll accept any CR that gives us money for the wall.”

That gives Mitch a little wiggle room, but it also makes all the whining about Nancy’s offer of $1 being an “insult” look ridiculous.

Right, but let’s say the Dems offer Trump a deal where he gets say, $1.5 Billion for his wall and agrees to the DACA protections. Does this not still effectively teach him that he can hold federal workers hostage to make Democrats give him what he wants?

I understand the dire need to reopen the government but this would be just a horrible, horrible precedent to set.
