Agh. I’m glad I never joined. I think it was the simple fact that I didn’t have any close friends that were cub scouts unlike my brothers.

I’m sort of curious about my family now. My mother and sister were active in Girl Scouts.
My brother was in Cub Scouts for a while, roughly the equivalent time I was in Indian Guides. And then, neither of us were while my mother and sister continued in Girl Scouts.

So, my father must have encountered something, or decided that the time investment was not worth it. It wasn’t group activities or athletics since my brother and I both did Gray-Y (YMCA sponsored) or community-sponsored athletics all the way to high school.
