Do the Japanese really consider “Japs” derogatory? Seems more like an abbreviation than anything else.

Well, I know it was a derogatory term in WWII, same with “Fritz” and “Jerry” for Germans. But really, there’s a derogatory nickname for anyone of any nationality on the face of the planet. I figure why let it get ya down?
