You have to take courses to be a teacher here and the money for those is not available. I will ask some friends I have who are teachers, though. But I see that as a longer term option; Right now Illinois school districts outside of Chicago aren’t hiring much. Chicago plans to hire a number of teachers, but the union for them is very stridently Democratic. Republicans aren’t welcome.
