The problem with Uber (et Al) is not the mocel.
It’s the greed part of the model
So Germany tried to crack down on this sort of pseudo-entrepreneurship model. It involved delivery people, for UPS or TNT and especially people delivering frozen foods. They had to wear company livery, drive trucks (often leased from the company) painted with the company logo, drove fixed routes and set rates but were considered “contract labor” and “free-lance workers”.
One restaurant even tried to get away with “renting” tables to its free lance waiters who then “purchased” the food from the kitchen and re-sold it to the customers, eating the losses if the customers walked out on it or sent it back…
