I smoked MJ thousands of times and have never woken up in a strange place. I swear I’m inhaling every puff. What am I doing wrong?

I never even wanted to get out of my chair when I smoked pot. Pot made me awful at everything except listening to records. I gave up on it quickly, but I may pick up some edibles if it’s ever recreationally legal in MN. I’m retired, still have lots of records and I want to see how it feels now.
