Countries like Canada who have publicly-owned networks are getting the Olympics games in real-time and with little advertising to break-up the events. Here in the US, where we sneer at the idea of publicly-owned anything, the games are licensed to a company whose approach to the Games is to air them only during “peak” hours, with as much advertising as possible, and just generally making a mess of the whole thing.

If Our Dear Leader has his way the CBC will get a bullet in the head soon. I’m sure it’s one of the things he intends to do before the next election.
