Being new to chef contest shows last year I first watched the Food Network Next Food Network Star. Soon after that was over I watched Hell’s Kitchen for the first time. The difference between the two - even though the outcomes were really quite similar - was astounding. The Food Network show was always so polite with even scathing criticisms offered really nicely and respectfully. Then there was Chef Ramsey screaming at his chef candidates and telling them to fuck off frequently. I gotta admit I was at first shocked then found it pretty hilarious.
