Yes to the first part and I don’t know to the second.

I find it sad that he is allowed to sell them because of the crappy laws of Florida, my County, and my City. People buy a baby monkey because they think it is cute and adorable, but then discover the down side.

They are very difficult to train (especially if you have no idea how), aren’t big on hygiene, and are amazingly strong for their size. Most monkeys bought as pets when babies are later abandoned (released to the outdoors) or given up to a shelter.

Florida actually has packs of monkeys living in a couple of areas of the state and has had since monkeys escaped during the filming of the old Tarzan movies in the 40’s and 50’s.

Once every few months a story will appear in the news about animal control in some Florida city or town attempting to catch a rogue monkey of some variety. Usually one that was simply released by its owner and has no idea how to survive except for getting food from mankind’s refuse.

I just don’t think that their sale should be allowed.

I just have one question.

Where is this guy getting the baby monkeys from? Does he have a pair of monkeys and he is breeding monkeys somehow?
