A Concealed Handgun License in Texas requires a background check to establish no prior felony or class 3 misdemeanor convictions, classroom hours and qualification at a gun range. It may not be to your liking but it’s certainly not total bullshit.

The proposed law in question applies to open carry, not concealed.
