The original offender in the phony scandal was served with an injunction, and the Bush administration made the decision not to go any farther. Those are the facts.

That’s why I’m asking, an investigation into what? How do you plan to discover whether there’s a sekrit unwritten policy of helping black people win cases against white people, if not with a ridiculous fishing expedition?

I know the right wing would really love for this to turn into the next ACORN, but it’s not going to happen.

The ACORN of reality never came close to resembling the ACORN boogeyman of the right wing. The meme is the same here. We are talking about an organization (ACORN) that was (correctly or not) deemed to be too “urban” and “poor” (read: black) for any self-respecting white nationalist republican not to suspect of foul misdeeds.

The NBPP thing is too juicy for the right wing to resist jumping all over, facts be damned. It’s an explicitly black organization. We have a black president. Clearly, there is some kind of connection.
