Hence the strategy of impugning the the reputation of Mueller, the FBI and the entire domestic intelligence and law enforcement community.

Trump: The FBI is deep state conspiring against me; I must purge it and put in people I know are loyal to me personally.

The more Trump and the GOP act, the more they’re breaking the law - and their oaths of office. The problem, as you point out, is that the GOP control Congress and they are unresponsive and refuse to hold Trump accountable for his criminal acts and violations of his oath of Office. In doing so, they too are violating their oaths of office.

The only way through this logjam is to flush out the GOP in November, because I think even if Mueller has Trump on tape taking cash payments from Russians and getting intel from Putin himself on Clinton, the GOP and their backers will still think this is not nearly as serious as Clinton and Pizzagate or Uranium One or Benghazi or emails.
