I think the ultimate floor for any president is probably somewhere around 25%. There will always be devout partisans on each side that will back their guy no matter what. The ultimate ceiling is probably around 90%, that’s where GW Bush ended up after 9/11.

I have to agree with you. That’s also why I don’t think we’ll see a 1964, 1972, or 1984 type landslide in my lifetime. I of course hoped and thought Trump deserved to be landslided the most of anyone in history two years ago but I knew it wasn’t going to happen even when I thought HRC would win fairly convincingly.
