There was a quote in the paper from a lady who supported the 51st State initiative here in Colorado - she might have been one of the county commissioners. She was excited that her kids might get to grow up in a state based on ‘self-reliance’ like ‘living in the 1800s’.

I don’t think she has any clue how tough that was.

Why someone would want to romanticize a time when freezing to death was not an uncommon way to die is beyond me.

Because no librul nanny state gubmint, no unions, etc.

These people are very stupid and have taken Hollywood’s romanticism of the old west literally.
