All the more so 200, or 500 years after death.

Off the top of your head, how many people can you name who lived exactly 1000 years ago?

That’s one reason so many desire to be one of the “big men” of history, and so run for US President, knowing they’ll be in the books for centuries to come.

The very, very wealthy can do things to make themselves remembered, besides being heads of great empires. Set up institutions, for example.
