Pauline Hanson is something of yesterday’s news in Australia. I’m not sure if she’s even in government any more.

Another major benefit of mandatory voting is that when Australia does happen to elect the rare nutjob to a position of power, that nutjob is pretty much always voted out in one cycle, as people quickly realise ‘what the fuck was that all about?’
