Um, what 24 hour rule is necessary here? Nobody that I’ve seen has said anything about him that hasn’t already been confirmed by police.

Apparently reports are now coming out that the perp had been with troops in Afghanistan, and that he said to the victim “Consider this a checkpoint” before he slashed him.
If true, this suggests to me that this perp may have seen something in Afghanistan which motivated his anti-Muslim attack.
Perhaps the Park51 brouhaha played little or no part in motivating this particular attack.
Or perhaps not.
Let’s wait and see, shall we?
