If you’re in a discussion with someone who repeatedly spews factually incorrect information, that it would have taken him less than a minute on the internet to test drive before using in an argument, you’re dealing with an incompetent. If the truth, when brought to the table has no discernible impact and the lies keep being repeated, you’re dealing with an incompetent that is also lacking in personal integrity. If you want to keep an open mind at this point and refrain from calling this person a liar, and ascribe their repetition of the same factually incorrect statements to simple stupidity that’s certainly your right, but it’s far more likely that you’re dealing with malicious intent.
