So, we are playing the Opposite Game when it comes to polarized reflections?

Yes —if you’re a photographer wishing to eliminate most or all of some “glare” of reflected light, or in the case of the sky, scattered light. In either case, there is a special angle (direction) for which a polaroid filter will be most effective —when adjusted appropriately.

If you don’t happen to be near a water surface, but have polaroid glasses, try this. On a clear morning or afternoon, with the sun to your right (or left), look to the blue sky with one eye thru one polaroid lens, as you slowly rotate that lens. At some positions, parts of the sky (about 90 degrees from the sun) will be significantly darkened.
