Plus you guys had some conflict over Toledo when both states were part of the Northwest Territories. We don’t really “hate” West Virginia here. Definitely some looking down though but WV definitely has elements that hate how socially liberal Va has become. I honestly don’t hate any state though I could easily say I hate the political culture of a few.

This born and bred Virginian hates West Virginia, but that hatred didn’t come until weeks after I had moved there at age 29 when my wife took a job at a now defunct college/university run by an autocratic Trumpian grifter who was once the highest paid private university president in the nation. (Google College of West Virginia/Mountain State University. Also google “Charles Polk” and “Apex Learning” for the former university president’s business ethics philosophy.) I was stuck in West Virginia for nine years. I regard that period as our personal “lost decade.”
