Can I make a suggestion for a little discussion?

What about the idea of pure isolationism? limit immigration, protect our borders effectively (how to do this?) withdraw large deployments worldwide and develop a missile defense shield using space platforms?

Can something in there work? I know it seems like an easy-fix too-simple solution that couldn’t work due to the global economy and nuke proliferation but is there something in there that might be a good idea or effective. I notice a few folks here touting the Modern Whigs and after learning more about them I see this as a plank of theirs. not saying I personally agree or disagree just wanting to hear ideas on the subject. Any thoughts appreciated…

Not for that. We need the world, and the world needs us. Borders are a legal fiction anyway.
