You have the G-d-Given right protected under the Constitution (although not specifically enumerated) to defend your life and your property.

Personally, I think alot of this would be forstalled if the right to self-defense were enumerated as one of those things the government cannot infringe. It’s the basis the right not to be enslaved by the government.

To me that seems like putting a castle doctrine (or worse, stand your ground) into the constitution. I don’t think legally mandated helplessness is enough of a threat to warrant such drastic steps.
