Some part of me wonders if that was the intent of all this. To force a vote on a short-term CR that would mean another fight in a few months time by cramming full the long-term bill full of Republican Christmas wishes.

Regardless of method and even goal it makes Boehner look incompetent and incapable of showing leadership.
