You’ve gotta be kidding. There are currently close to half a billion tweets per day that would need to be monitored for fake quotes, then someone would have to verify all of them.

No, and saying I’ve got to be kidding is pretty insulting.

Twitter is software based, not humans shuffling cards. Creating the initial list of fake quotes is as simple of scanning David Barton’s books and web posts. Checking tweets against it would be simple.

In addition, they could add a “the contents of this tweet are false” button, and use software to disregard the clicks by crazies at they’re identified. This would be a really fun problem to solve by analyzing hashtag usage and keywords in posts.
