Sort of out of the loop on this one, I know about Rick & Morty - one of the cable networks here shows it late at night - but what’s the deal with the Szechuan Sauce thing? Aside from the R&M tie-in, is it like the greatest sauce in the history of mankind’s culinary achievements or something? Is it measurably better than the bottle of Kikkoman’s Teriyaki Sauce I have lying around? (Sadly, I have to settle for Kikkoman’s, ‘cause I can’t get Yoshida’s in my neck of the woods)

You and me both. I have no idea what it tastes like. I’d think different than Teriyaki though since Teriyaki is Japanese and this sauce is Chinese inspired. Apparently McDonalds first made it when Mulan came out in the late 90’s.
