The circumstances of events makes exact recall of past events, particularly ones over a long period of time, always difficult to impossible. For example, if you’re robbed at gunpoint, you’re more likely to remember the gun put in your face than you are the face of the robber.

If Prof. Ford said she could remember exact date/time, location, and all the little details of the events, I’d be suspicious on the grounds that such minutiae tends to be lost over the passage of time.
