I am seriously pissed off that this is still a fight.

When I was a kid there was a single mom who lived on our street. Her husband left her with two little kids and she had to work, which was not cool at the time. I used to babysit for her sometimes, even though my Mom didn’t “approve of her lifestyle”. She was obviously overwhelmed, trying to keep the house, the kids, the car and all the bills paid. So I would help her clean her house, do the dishes and laundry, that kind of stuff, when I babysat.

She died from a botched abortion. She had the nerve to date and and got pregnant. You should have heard the judgement and tongue wagging in our neighborhood. No compassion. I was 12 when it happened. Roe V Wade passed the next year. I cried for two weeks after this lady died. Her name was Danielle, Danny. She was pretty and nice to me. That was the event that turned me against religious people and their snotty Jesus Club bullshit. I was a kid, but I was smart enough to see what was what. My parent were in Amway for FFS, I had been raised in the whole evangelical mess. When Danny died, I wasn’t allowed to ever talk about her again. But I overheard the whispers and the nasty talk. I never knew what happened to her kids, the police took them away in a police car, her house was emptied out and that was that. This is what these fucking assholes want to see again.
