yep, that’s what we do here in the Backwoods house. 5% cashback adds up when usual cash/check transactions get put on the card and paid off in full every month.

I think you have to be fairly financially secure to do that, in addition to being securely employed. More power to you if you’re in that position.

Too many people no longer have that option in a still recovering economy and a changing financial landscape in which so much income has pushed upward, not into the average person’s paycheck.

If inflation doesn’t take hold any time soon, I can easily make do on my SS, although I do forego some pleasures, and, sometimes, necessities, in life. But it’s made up in other areas. : )
