Why has Windows 8 been a FAIL? No subtext, I just want to to know. Midform, if you please, since I have IT people I can go to if I don’t understand some of the big words.

I’ve mainly been going off of its poor sales. Nokia and its deal-with-the-devil Windows 8 phones haven’t exactly been burning up the sales charts. Microsoft ate $900 million in its Surface RT tablet inventory. Windows 8 on the desktop is such a major paradigm shift that businesses aren’t willing to pay the cost to retrain employees, and are retaining Windows 7 for the foreseeable future. Microsoft tried to homogenize the desktop and tablet space, and it just doesn’t work too well for either.
