If someone hacks into my computer and steals one of my drawings that’s pirating. They can, theoretically, take one of those drawings and sell of for $5,000 in some cases. I don’t care if it’s one or 12,000 drawings.

That’s theft. So if it’s me an individual or a corporation it doesn’t make much a difference. The laws side with the victims and doesn’t rationalize things based on feelings or anecdotal evidence or perceptions of cultural nuances.

The other thing people aren’t taking into account is that the trend is growing and not diminishing. Protections have to be put in place as this onslaught continues. We cannot allow this kind of anarchy to continue and expect companies or individuals to look the other way.
