For those curious about the new white supremacist chat app, gab DOT ai, be careful if and when you get an account. I just read through their privacy statement, and basically, you won’t have much. If you use the gab mobile app, it will harvest details about your location, your phone, your IP and other such stuff in order to target ads and “provide services.” So, if you’re intending to sign up with a burner email account, the service can still find your location and IP, unless you opt out or use a VPN. Depending on how paranoid you are, it might be better to observe gab DOT ai from a safe distance.

The founder is a social media advertising tycoon, so it’s safe to assume he will use metadata to target ads and services to gab users. IOW, he intends to make money off the backs of disaffected right wingers.

Their terms of service, oddly enough, sound much like Twitter’s and Facebook’s. So I wonder how “edgy” gab DOT ai intends to be.
