Trump’s appointment of uber-hawk Bolton as NSA was incomprehensible in the first place. Bolton may have thought that he could influence Trump which was very foolish on his part. Trump can only be influenced to go more aggressively in the direction that he prefers — not to do a 180. So Bolton’s tenure was not going to be long for this world in any case. Given that the NSA doesn’t require Senate approval, maybe Trump will appoint Deripaska to the position? An administration full of Russian loving toadies led by the premier Putin puppet himself.
