Washington State may soon lose part of the death penalty. Prisoners here get to choose the method, hanging being one of them. A prisoner chose hanging and then started packing on a lot of weight. Now he is saying hanging would be cruel and unusual punishment since he is too heavy to be hanged, he might be decapitated instead of having his neck broken.

Personally I don’t see how his getting decapitated is cruel. He murdered and so deserves what he asked for.

That is really odd….what if someone picks “old age” as their choice of death?
