I don’t know if reminding them that conservatives came for Catholics in the past. That scene in Washington is conservatism throughout the history of the country.

Their anti-abortion stance isn’t going to do much good if they’re the next ones conservatives come after.

The frustrating thing is they just say “Well mine came legally.” They don’t know that. All the research I’ve done and I still haven’t found the immigration records of all my family. They’re threatened by changing demographics. I think what bothered them the most about Obama’s election and it will bother them doubly so if Kamala is elected is that a black person can be their boss now. I’ve never felt threatened by such a thing since I have had PoC as authority figures in my life whether that was school or work. But equally important, I’ve had them as peers too. I don’t claim to be colorblind. I’m aware of our differences but my belief is that what should make this country unique is we were never supposed to be an ethno-state. What we actually have practiced I concede is unfortunately a different reality.
