Hey, don’t sweat it! I’ve been on here since before registration was started, (December of 2003) and my Karma is something like 10,000 or so but on 72,000 comments. That means that 10,000 or so folks read my comments and found them either informative or humorous and God only knows how many have given me negative ding downs.
It really doesn’t make much difference in how you’re perceived out here, and it’s a lot more like voting for Prom King and Queen. And my positive Karma to comments ratio sucks, so I reckon I’m not popular out here. I’m pretty sure Charles instituted it so as to let people know whether or not they were posting a lot of junk or a lot of good comments, but it really hasn’t worked out that way - it’s really turned into a popularity contest, which I am sure is not what Charles intended it to be.
Just relax, write any comments you want to (within Charles’ rules of course) and don’t worry over how popular you become.Unless, of course, you’re a politician and then you need to be concerned with your popularity rating! LOL!
