My dad didn’t quite get drafted-he was within 6 months of being too old, close to underweight, marginal eyesight. The doctor apparently wrote something on the form, erased it, and then wrote something else. Dad joined the Red Cross. Which is where he met my Mom, so it was a good thing. (At least from my point of view.)
