I don’t think there’s anything crazy about those comparisons — there is a serious threat to mankind from global warming. I know there are lots of people here who want to believe there’s nothing to worry about, but it couldn’t be more serious.

The comparison is valid because Hansen is talking about huge problems that required huge solutions.

So it’s okay for one side to invoke slavery and Nazism but abhorrent for the other side when they invoke it in relation to a gov’t takeover of financial institutions, private business and health care?

I’m not an AGW denier. I do have (in my mind) reasonable questions about the severity of some of the most extreme models.
I just think Hansen went over the top with that comment just like I thing Palin (et al) went over the top re: death panels!
