The other funny thing is for all their talk about “We the people” is that they side against the people awfully quickly if they deem the cause “unAmerican.” Funny how TPers saying “This time we came unarmed” was more “American” than OWS or the numerous immigrant reform protests that they flip their shit about. Honestly if you need to wave your gun around to make a political point. You’re a coward in my book. It doesn’t make you look badass, tough, or anything. It just makes you look like a pansy who feels the need to intimidate people with a gun to make a political point.

It seems to be a mindset in these groups that you need to wave something in order to intimidate that they’re right regardless of the actual facts. Be it a book or a gun.

If you haven’t read Jim Wright’s analogy to religion and a penis over on Stonekettle Station I suggest giving it a look. He pretty much hits home about how this sort of abuse goes on. Though I would caveat that I think he is essentially saying that it’s not a religion problem - it’s an asshole problem where the asshole is using religion as the excuse to claim unchallengeable correctness.
