None of us will forget, but the entirety of US culture will be screaming for weeks that a little treason and threat of murder is nothing compared to the absolute calamity that is white Republicans facing consequences. That’s not really snark on my part either - it’s one of America’s core principles that these people never face consequences. I think it would break the country if they did.

A few Cletus nobodies might do a little time. But no official or politician will face any consequence.

Merrick Garland isn’t going to take a half assed job. And it’s BECAUSE of that sizable percentage that think treason and murder is nothing.

And all of the Democratic Congresscritters are going to back him up.
