Personally I don’t like the mindset of the US war-gamers.

Generals and Admirals always fight their war, the war based on their beliefs.

And also I think it is absurd to think China and US have to go to war.

While I am no fan of the isolationist glibertarians, we still need to consider a basic premise of these war games: that the US has to go to war over Taiwan.

Afghanistan should have taught us that trying to shape Asia into our own image usually won’t work, perhaps will never work.

It’s rather imperialistic of the US to think we have to be in control of the world.

Huge difference from Afghanistan is that Taiwan is a democracy we would be defending from an outside aggressor. In this scenario, China is the aggressor seeking to shape Taiwan into its image; we don’t have to shape Taiwan.
