Would have been nice if Bush’s FP team had tried to get this done in Iraq instead of going in dick first.

My understanding has been for awhile now that we had the opportunity in 2003 to get a deal with Iran that would have dismantled much of the work they were doing, that they offered it to us in the wake of Iraq. But they would not go so far as regime change, so the White House ignored the offer and just pushed forward with the saber rattling.
